Due to circumstances beyond our control, our previous provider decided to discontinue website hosting services. Our new provider has a completely different setup, so regular visitors will notice some changes right away. Undoubtedly, there will be a few hiccups as we adjust to the new system. Please bear with us.
These changes come just as the Central Iowa Lacrosse Association itself is going through a period of change. After spending the last two summers promoting an adult lacrosse league, CILA has shifted its focus to developing the game at the youth level. The adult league is going on hiatus this season, but we are currently planning for adult pick up games in its place. Current plans see the Box Lacrosse League remaining the cornerstone of our adult lacrosse program.
CILA's 2011 youth pilot program taught 40 boys in grades 5-8 to play lacrosse. This year's program is expanding to allow current (2011-12) school year fourth graders to participate as well. In even bigger news, there will also be a program for girls offered! The comprehensive youth program will feature assigned teams, scheduled practices, and competitive games.
We will continue to offer clinic services throughout the year - and around the state. Contact us using the form below to find out how to set up a clinic in your area.
Our new focus emphasizes our commitment to growing the game of lacrosse in Central Iowa, and throughout the state. Youth development is the most critical component of real and sustainable growth, and our new focus reflects that. We are actively encouraging parents and community members to get involved as assistant coaches and apprentice officials.
